Provided are a cold recovery system and a cold recovery method which allow the cold of LNG to be effectively used when cooling a cold absorbing fluid that is capable of storing cold by using latent heat. This cold recovery system 1 is provided with: a first flow passage 31 through which liquefied natural gas flows; a second flow passage 32 through which a cold absorbing fluid flows that is capable of storing the cold of the liquefied natural gas using latent heat and has fluidity even below the freezing point; and a barrier wall 33 which is disposed such that the first flow passage 31 and the second flow passage 32 are adjacent to each other, is interposed between both flow passages 31, 32, and is for exchanging latent heat between the liquefied natural gas and the cold absorbing fluid. The cold absorbing fluid is an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol with a weight concentration of 50-60%. A screw conveyor 34 is provided upstream from the second flow passage. A storage tank 40 is provided for storing the cold absorbing fluid that is discharged to the downstream side of the second flow passage.
