Claimed is a training device for a soccer player, which comprises a cord made of a flexible material, one end of said cord being capable of fastening at the waist to the back of an athlete undergoing training, wherein the cord is provided with a fastener for adjusting the length of said cord. Moreover, a flexible auxiliary cord is provided that is capable of being connected to the legs of the athlete at the ankle and that serves to restrict the stride length of the athlete; the free end of the cord that is capable of being fastened to the back of the athlete is movably connected to the auxiliary cord and automatically adjusts the slack of the auxiliary cord between the legs of the athlete within a range of a restricted stride length as the athlete walks or runs. The technical result is that of increasing the speed at which soccer players learn how to move with a ball in a style characterized by touching the ball with each foot in turn with every step.
