FIBRE FOR REINFORCING FIBRE CEMENT, FIBRE PRODUCTION METHOD AND FIBRE CEMENT ARTICLE

The present invention describes a high-strength fibre for reinforcing fibre cement, in which the fibre is a blended monofilament comprising polypropylene homopolymer, polyethylene terephthalate homopolymer and a compatibilizing polyolefinic polymer material comprising a polar group. In addition to this, a method is disclosed for producing these fibres, as well as fibre cement articles using these monofilaments. These articles have advantages such as increasing the mechanical strength and flexural strength, or maintaining these properties with lower mass content of fibres.
