Disclosed is a vulnerable plaque identification method. The method comprises: receiving a cardiovascular picture sent by a terminal device; converting the cardiovascular picture into a polar coordinate system from an original Cartesian coordinate system so as to generate a polarized picture; constructing a Faster RCNN regional network structure, and completing training thereof; inputting the polarized picture into the trained Faster RCNN regional network structure, performing image identification on the polarized picture, and outputting an image marked with a vulnerable plaque; and feeding the image marked with the vulnerable plaque back to the terminal device. Also provided are an application server and a computer readable storage medium.
