The invention relates to a method for the non-destructive inspection of a surface situated inside a blade root receiving groove (1) of a rotor (2), the method having the following steps: a) magnetising the rotor (2) at least in the region of the surface to be inspected; b) applying a magnetic inspection means to the surface to be inspected; c) inserting at least one camera module (9) into the blade root receiving groove (1) in such a manner that said camera module points towards the surface to be inspected; d) moving the at least one camera module (9) in a motorised manner through the blade root receiving groove (1), wherein said camera module automatically captures digital image data of at least one surface region of the surface to be inspected, along the entire length of the blade root receiving groove (1); and further processing. The invention also relates to a device (6) for carrying out such a method.
