The path optimization method comprises: acquiring initial path information (S101); selecting a path optimization starting point and a path optimization ending point from the initial path information, and acquiring path optimization information according to the path optimization starting point and the path optimization ending point (S102); and optimizing the initial path information according to the path optimization information (S103). By means of analyzing the acquired initial path information, a path portion that needs to be optimized is determined and the initial path information is further optimized, such that path information provided to a user is optimal path information, thereby improving the quality of service and saving on the travel time of the user.
