The present invention provides an adhesive polymer-coated lithium-ion battery separator, comprising: a substrate. One side or both sides of the substrate are coated with an adhesive polymer coating; the coating consists of a water-based binder and adhesive polymer powder; particles of the adhesive polymer powder are irregularly dispersed in a single form, or irregularly dispersed or orderly arranged in the form of multiparticle aggregates. The present invention is environmentally friendly in production process, high in safety, and low in production costs; nano-sized adhesive polymer powder used in the prior art is replaced with micron-sized adhesive polymer powder, thereby reducing the influence of a multi-layer close packing structure formed by particles of conventional nano-sized adhesive polymer powder on the air permeability, and effectively avoiding the problem of cell scraping caused by a dead zone formed by the adhesive material completely blocking micropores of the separator during the hot pressing process of an electrode piece and the separator. The present invention also provides a manufacturing method for the adhesive polymer-coated lithium-ion battery separator.
