The invention relates to a method for producing an endless tape-form cross-laid roving for producing a component of high thermal stability from a ceramic fibre-composite material. The method is based on a roving being wound up on a winding body such that a multi-layer tubular cross-laid fabric is obtained, wherein the roving comprises a multifilament fibre bundle infiltrated with a moist slip. This is followed by the spiral separation of a tape-form cross-laid roving from the cross-laid fabric. The endless tape-form cross-laid roving obtained can be used for example to produce a green body for a component of high thermal stability from a ceramic fibre-composite material. The multifilament fibre bundles of the mutually adjoining individual layers enclose an angle γ with one another, where γ Λ 10°.
