The present invention describes a device 1 intended for recycling of water or discarding of water not suitable to recycle, said device 1 comprising a flow path 4 for recycled water, a fresh water inlet and a point of separation 30, wherein the device also comprises a sensor system 10 for measurement of water quality, wherein the sensor system 10 comprises a IR source 20 and a IR receiver 21, and wherein the sensor system 10 is connected to a control unit which decides if water should be recycled or discarded in the point of separation 30 based on the measurement of the water quality.
