A control device for a gas engine provided with a main chamber to which a mixture gas of fuel gas and combustion air is supplied via an air supply line, and a sub-chamber to which a part of the fuel gas is supplied by means of a sub-chamber gas supply line. The control device for gas engine is provided with: a memory for storing a map which defines, with respect to at least one parameter relating to the pressure of the air supply line, a differential pressure (sub-chamber differential pressure) between the air supply line and the sub-chamber gas supply line, or a timing of ignition by the ignition device, a target value corresponding to an amount of heat generation by the fuel gas; and a first command value generation unit which acquires from the map the target value of the at least one parameter corresponding to the result of detection, by a calorie sensor, of the amount of heat generation, and generates, on the basis of the target value, at least one of an ignition timing command value for the ignition device, which is provided in the sub-chamber, a position command value for a sub-chamber differential-pressure control valve provided in the sub-chamber gas supply line to control the differential pressure, or a position command value for an air supply control valve provided in the air supply line.
