The present embodiments relate to a method and apparatus for performing positioning in a next generation wireless network. An embodiment provides a method for performing positioning by a terminal, the method comprising the steps of: identifying configuration information for a transmission pattern of a positioning reference signal (PRS); and receiving the positioning reference signal on the basis of the configuration information for the transmission pattern.
