SUPERSONIC AIRPLANE AND METHOD FOR REDUCING SONIC BOOMS

[Problem] To provide a supersonic airplane and a method for reducing sonic booms, by which sonic booms due to engine exhaust can be reduced. [Solution] This supersonic airplane has: a pair of engine nacelles 12R, 12L installed in a fuselage 11 of a plane body 10; a pair of fins 13R, 13L serving as blocking plates that prevent engine exhaust 15 discharged from jet engines (not illustrated) accommodated in the engine nacelles 12R, 12L from being suctioned into a lower portion of the plane body 10; and a pair of horizontal stabilizers 14R, 14L disposed behind the engine nacelles 12R, 12L. The fins 13R, 13L are disposed in the horizontal stabilizers 14R, 14L, respectively, with the engine exhaust 15 therebetween.
