Disclosed is a computer-implemented method usable during production of an assembly using at least a first machine tool. The method comprises the steps of: searching for a predetermined production plan for an assembly, wherein the predetermined production plan includes a plurality of operations using a first machine tool; obtaining input data for determining a manufacturing deviation from the predetermined production plan; determining a modified production plan for the assembly by replacing one or more of the operations of the predetermined production plan with one or more alternate operations responsive to determination of the manufacturing deviation; and transmitting a command to the first machine tool corresponding to at least one alternate operation of the modified production plan.
