The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of iron hydroxide (FeOOH), and a cathode for a lithium-sulfur battery having the iron hydroxide. More specifically, crystalline iron hydroxide, in particular, lepidocrocite (γ-FeOOH) can be produced by controlling reaction time and reaction temperature. In addition, the produced high purity iron hydroxide can be applied to the cathode of a lithium-sulfur battery to improve the discharge capacity and life characteristics of the battery.
