Aerosolized Dapson (or alternatively, Dapson's aqueous composition) is used to treat airway inflammation, particularly chronic neutrophil-centered inflammation. Examples of diseases that can be prevented or treated by the method of the present invention include chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPDs), asthma, cystic fibrosis and the like.
