The present invention relates to a method for coordinating emergency braking of a platoon of communicatively coupled vehicles and a system thereof capable of avoiding or at least reducing a subsidiary danger like a rear-end collision. The method for coordinating emergency braking of a platoon of communicatively coupled vehicles comprises the steps of: centrally determining an individual braking control setting of one or more vehicles of the platoon by a management main body managing the platoon responding to an emergency situation; communicating the individual baking control setting to one or more vehicles of the platoon from the management main body; and braking one or more vehicles of the platoon in accordance with each individual barking control setting received from the management main body.
