The present disclosure relates to a 5^th generation (5G) or pre-5G communications system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after a 4^th generation (4G) communications system such as long term evolution (LTE). The present invention relates to an operation method of a reception end, which is for detecting a mismatch of an encryption parameter in a wireless communications system, wherein the method comprises the steps of: receiving a packet including a serial number of the packet and information related to an encryption parameter determined on the basis of the serial number from a transmission end; and determining whether the encryption parameter determined by the reception end is mismatched on the basis of information related to the serial number and the encryption parameter.
