The present invention relates to a composition for improvement of a memory and a cognition ability, prevention, delay, treatment or alleviation of dementia, containing extracts of Curcuma longa, Chaenomeles sinensis and Zingiber officinale. To be specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical and a functional food composition which contains the extract of Curcuma longa, Chaenomeles sinensis and Zingiber officinale as an active component and shows improvement of a memory and a cognition ability, and prevention, delay, treatment or alleviation of dementia. The composition of the present invention can improve the memory and the cognition ability and effectively prevent, delay, alleviate and treat dementia without any side effects by an inhibition activity of AChE, Aβ production, nitrogen oxide and inflammatory cytokine secretion, Aβ plaque production and Aβ aggregation, and an increasing activity of sAPPα secretion.
