The present invention relates to a combined virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) arcade game system, which can maximize game realism, increase a player′s interest and immersion to enjoy games, and promote to create profits. The combined virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) arcade game system according to the present invention includes: an arcade game device body; a projector for displaying preset images on a projection window; a plurality of marker-based cards having a recognition marker disposed at one side and game contents including characters or backgrounds printed on the other side; a marker cognition camera for photographing to recognize the recognition marker of the marker-based cards; a control module having a VR actuating unit for executing virtual reality based on the corresponding recognition marker; a head mount display device having an Occulus lift module for outputting 3D virtual images and a 3D stereo cameral module for obtaining a photographed actual images into 3D actual images, wherein the head mount display device unites the virtual 3D images with the 3D actual images; one or more buttons disposed on the arcade game device body to select and display one among the virtual reality and the augmented reality; and a game execution authorizing means disposed on the arcade game device body to convert a standby mode into a game activation mode through authorization for game execution.
