The present invention relates to a user plane function (UPF) device relocation method which can reduce service interruption even in a session and service continuity (SSC) mode 2 through UPF device relocation for 5G terminal service continuity management. To this end, the UPF device relocation method comprises the steps of: releasing a present protocol data unit (PDU) session associated with the existing UPF device when UPF device relocation from the existing UPF device to a new UPF device is determined in a session management function device when a user terminal transmits and receives data using the existing UPF device; and establishing a new PDU session associated with the new UPF device to enable the user terminal to transmit and receive the data using the UPF device.
