The present invention relates to an apparatus for selecting a block yard of a shipbuilding yard based on decision tree learning and a method thereof. The method of selecting a block yard of a shipbuilding yard using an apparatus for selecting a block yard of a shipbuilding yard based on decision tree learning comprises: a step of receiving moving request data including an ID of a block to be moved, a loading place, and a block moving request date from a user; a step of using previously stored production plan data of the block to acquire a post work schedule date of a corresponding bock and post work place location information, and collecting loading place situation data around the post work place; a step of applying the block moving request data, the block production plan data, and the loading place situation data around the post work place to a decision tree learning algorithm to select at least one candidate unloading place; and a step of selecting a candidate unloading place which minimizes a moving distance between the loading place and the candidate unloading place and between the candidate unloading place and the post work place as a final unloading place when there are a plurality of the candidate unloading places. According to the present invention, an optimal loading place for loading a shipbuilding yard block is provided to increase efficiency of shipbuilding yard process work and reduce a moving distance of the shipbuilding yard block to greatly reduce operating costs.
