A method for common phase error and inter-carrier interference estimation and compensation, estimates a channel by using a subcarrier of demodulation reference signal in a received signal, estimates a common phase error term by using the estimated channel and a subcarrier of a phase tracking reference signal, and estimates at least one inter-carrier interference term, wherein estimating the inter-carrier interference removes the estimated common phase error term from the received signal to form a first compensated received signal, and estimates a first inter-carrier interference term based on the first compensated received signal.
