The present invention relates to a piston for an energy recovery device of a reverse osmosis desalination system, which has a function of recovering energy of a high pressure concentrate discharged from a desalination module to transfer the same to salt water to be desalinated while two pistons connected to each other by a piston rod penetrating the central block reciprocate inner surfaces of two cylinders which are separated from each other by the central block; is formed with three separable pieces; and comprises grooves for each mounting a sealing material on a circumferential surface of a central piece unit and wearing materials on circumferential surfaces of left and right piece units. The piston according to the present invention has a continuous sliding ability and excellent leakage prevention performance regardless of thermal expansion of a stainless steel (SUS316) material cylinder.
