The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for retargeting a character animation motion which can automatically generate an artist-friendly rig space parameter set. To this end, the method comprises the steps of: generating an intermediate object composed of at least one of a skeleton and a mesh based on a source motion and a target character; extracting a key frame of the intermediate object; configuring a target rig parameter based on the extracted key frame; and performing space-time optimization for the target rig parameter to minimize a pose error between the intermediate object and the target character.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
