The present invention relates to a method for automatically generating a music playlist by analyzing prior use information of a user and, more specifically, to a method for automatically generating a music playlist using a music database of a user. The method comprises: a step (1) of collecting existing music listening information of the user and characteristics of music information from the music database of the user; a step (2) of estimating a degree of similarity based on the existing music listening information of the user and the characteristics of the music information collected in the step (1); and a step (3) of generating a new playlist by using the similarity estimated in the step (2) and playlist information previously generated by the user. According to the method for automatically generating a music playlist by analyzing prior use information of a user of the present invention, collaborative filtering can be used to estimate the associated user and estimate the sound source association that the user has listened to, thereby automatically generating a playlist of sound sources that the user may like.
