A road damage detecting terminal installed in a vehicle is disclosed. The terminal comprises: a photographing unit for photographing a road; an acceleration sensor; and a control module for extracting an edge component from a photographed image, dividing into at least one region based on the extracted edge component, and primarily determining whether the at least one divided region is a damaged road region. In addition, the control module can secondarily determine the damaged road region based on a filtered Z-axis signal and can determine the damaged road region based on the primary and secondary determinations.
