The present invention relates to a method for screening therapeutic agents for leukemia by regulating the expression of an olfactory receptor (OR) by G9a and LSD1. The present inventors have confirmed that the expression of OR was decreased during the differentiation of a human myeloid leukemia cell line, HL-60 cells by all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA); have found that the level of LSD1 on the OR promoter is reduced while G9a is assembled into the OR promoter, thereby confirming that the expression of the OR gene is suppressed; and have found that knockdown of OR10G2 inhibits cell proliferation, thereby indicating that OR expression can play a role in regulating leukemia cell maintenance.
