The present invention relates to a motor speed estimation apparatus and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the motor speed estimation apparatus comprises: a voltage obtaining unit obtaining a voltage inputted to a motor; a signal processing unit converting the obtained voltage into a waveform for magnetic flux; a low pass filter passing the converted magnetic flux waveform as an input signal; and an estimating unit estimating a speed of the motor by using a rate of decrease of a waveform size of an output signal after passing through the low pass filter with regard to the input signal before passing through the low pass filter.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
