The present invention relates to a context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) binary arithmetic decoder for processing ultrahigh definition (UHD) image at high speed, which comprises: a symbol probability and candidate LPS range determining stage of determining a current decoding bin as the most probable symbol (MPS) when a context model value (ValMPS) received from a context modeler is equal to a bin value (BinVal), and determining the current decoding bin as the least probable symbol (LPS) when ValMPS is not equal to BinVal; a range update stage of performing renormalization when a range of the current decoding bin becomes less than a predetermined range, and outputting the number (Cnt_RenormE) of renormalizations and a range (rMPS) of MPS required for calculating the least edge value (Low) of the range; a least edge value updating stage of adding rMPS and Low to calculate ivlLow for a next call, and outputting an information bit required for generating a bitstream for the current decoding bin based on ivlLow and Cnt_RenormE; and a bitstream generating stage of outputting a bitstream based on the information bit for the current decoding bin.
