Disclosed are a wireless battery management system capable of increasing space efficiency of a battery pack and preventing failure due to defects of physical components, and a method for protecting a battery pack using the same. The battery pack comprises a plurality of battery modules and at least one relay. The wireless battery management system comprises: a plurality of slave controllers electrically coupled to the plurality of battery modules in a one-to-one manner; and a master controller coupled to each of the slave controllers to be able to wirelessly communicate with the same.
