An apparatus for generating a response sentence generates a response sentence by following content tailored interest of a user. The apparatus comprises: a conversion means converting input voice of a user into text information; an extraction means extracting rhyme information from the input voice; a specifying means specifying an emotional vitality word representing vitality of emotion of the user based on the text information and rhyme information; and a generation means selecting a character string including the emotional vitality word specified of the text information and generating a response sentence by predetermined processing on the selected character string.
