The present invention relates to various aspects in the production of extruded products. The properties of the extrudate change not only in its formulation but also in the control parameters and in particular the resulting process data. Control variables and in particular process variables represent the state of the extrusion process characterized as "fingerprints ". The claimed invention takes these facts into consideration and helps workers in the manufacturing plant detect early changes in quality and systematically suppress quality deterioration.
