GRAVITY TYPE SUCTION ANCHOR AND INSTALLATION METHOD THEREOF

The present invention provides a gravity type suction anchor obtaining a sufficient support force and being free from restriction on crane performance by reducing the weight of a suction anchor unit. According to the present invention, the gravity type suction anchor includes: the suction anchor unit including a cylindrical body and an upper plate closing an upper end of the body; and a weight structure installed in the upper part of the suction anchor. The weight structure includes: a body unit installed to come into contact with the upper surface of the upper plate; and a support unit extended to the lower part of the body unit. The gravity type suction anchor is installed on the sea bed through the steps of: a first step of embedding the lower part of the suction anchor unit into the ground by the weight of the suction anchor; a second step of sucking seawater in the suction anchor by connecting a suction pump to the suction anchor unit and embedding the suction anchor; a third step of releasing the connection with the suction pump and installing the weight structure in the upper part of the suction anchor; and a fourth step of adjusting an arrangement direction for the arrangement direction of the weight structure to match that of a mooring line.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
