A process planning scheme is disclosed that enables the conversion of crude oil feed into integrated processing mode petrochemical with several processing units. This design utilizes minimum capital expenditure to produce a suitable feedstock for the steam cracker complex. An integrated process for converting crude oil to olefin and aromatic, and petroleum product products, including fuel products, includes mixed feed steam cracking and gas oil steam cracking. The feed to the mixed feed steam cracker may be a mixture of the hard product from the water addition room and the recycle stream from the naphtha, C3 and C4 olefin recovery stages within the battery limits, and raffinate from the pyrolysis gasoline aromatics extraction zone . The feed to the gas oil steam cracker comprises a hydrogenated gas oil range intermediate from the vacuum gas oil water addition zone. In addition, the vacuum residue is processed in a solvent deasphalting unit to produce deasphalted oil as an additional feed to the gas oil water addition space.
