According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for generating a polar code for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channel comprises the steps of: generating a plurality of single input single output (SISO) channels that are independent of each other based on MIMO channel information; allocating each of channels of the polar code to one of the plurality of SISO channels; applying polar transform to the plurality of SISO channels to estimate qualities of combined channels; and arranging unfrozen bits and frozen bits based on the estimated qualities.
