The present invention relates to a modifiable one-dimensional photonic crystal using a limited liquid crystal and a production method thereof. The liquid crystal material-based one-dimensional anodized aluminum oxide photonic crystal comprising an anisotropic liquid crystal material having a nematic phase inside a pore of the porous anodized aluminum oxide-based one-dimensional photonic crystal uniaxially aligns liquid crystal molecules using a finite effect induced in nano pores, and reversibly modulates an optical bandgap of the photonic crystal by inducing phase transitions thereof thermally or optically.
