Disclosed are a security authentication method for communications of a mobile device with a display device in a network environment using a PIN code, which is capable of checking man in the middle (MITM) attack with a key not authenticated in a certificate authority (CA); and an apparatus thereof. According to the present invention, the security authentication method comprises the steps of: performing communications for a public key between first and second terminals, wherein the first terminal receives a public key of the second terminal and the second terminal receives a public key of the first terminal; allowing the first and second terminals to combine the received public key of a counterpart with own secret key to generate a common secret key; generating the generated common secret into a PIN code by using cyclic redundancy check (CRC); and displaying the generated PIN code on a display of the first and second terminals to determine connection between the terminals.
