Disclosed are a virtual reality (VR) content providing method, a VR content playback method, and an apparatus for performing the same which can control a sickness level. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the VR content playback apparatus comprises: a VR content management unit to receive VR content from a VR content management server for providing the VR content, and manage playback of the received VR content; a property information checking unit to check property information representing properties of the VR content; a sickness level information checking unit to check sickness level information representing a sickness level associated with the VR content; a user state information checking unit to check user state information representing a state of a user using the VR content; a driving environment information checking unit to check driving environment information representing an environment in which the VR content is played back; a VR sickness information display unit to display VR sickness information including the property information, the sickness level information, the user state information, and the driving environment information; a user sickness level checking unit to check a sickness level of the user using the VR content; and a sickness level information correction unit to incorporate the checked sickness level of the user to correct the sickness level information.
