According to an embodiment of the present invention, a containment building for nuclear power plants comprises a phase change material which has a melting point of 60 to 100 degrees and is in a solid state at room temperature. When an accident of the containment building occurs, the phase change material absorbs heat inside the containment building to be liquefied so as to be permeated into a crack generated in the containment building and fill the crack and is solidified by decreasing temperature as the phase change material moves away from the center of the containment building, thereby self-healing the crack of the containment building.
