The system and method generate a plurality of weighted attribute graph data models representing the system architecture. Each model represents a hierarchical directed configuration and a hierarchical directed decomposition of a pair of first instances of a design dimension by a plurality of vertices and corresponding connected first vertices representing a plurality of instances of a design dimension of the system architecture. A second weighted edge comprising a plurality of weighted edges connecting the pair of first vertices, each representing an information exchange interface between a pair of second instances of design dimensions represented by pairs of corresponding second vertices respectively; It includes different numbers of weighted interface edges connecting pairs of vertices. Each intermediate hierarchical cluster of the model is generated and correlated with the model with the most weighted interface edges to quantify the robustness of the system architecture.
