Disclosed are an apparatus for managing a solar energy generation prediction model to set an update interval of a solar energy generation prediction model based on deep learning and a method thereof. The method for managing solar energy generation prediction model may comprise the steps of: relearning the latest information by changing information of the prediction model to the latest information when an update interval of the prediction model has elapsed; determining whether to change the prediction model by comparing an actual value with a prediction value according to the prediction model when the update interval of the prediction model has not elapsed; and predicting amount of solar energy generation using one of the prediction model, the relearned prediction model, and the changed prediction model.
