Phased Array Ultrasonic Transducer for Defects at Rail

The present invention provides a phased array probe and a measuring wedge for nondestructive inspection of rails of railway rails. The size, arrangement, and a structure of the probe and shape design parameters of the wedge are found through simulation, and by using the found size, arrangement, and the structure of the probe and shape design parameters of the wedge, the probe and the wedge are produced, compared, and tested to prove the performance thereof. In particular, the present invention simulates a head part and an under part separately and a factor thereof is found. Accordingly, a phased array probe and wedge for the head part and a phased array probe and wedge for the under part are each developed such that an entire rail can be subjected to nondestructive inspection without shading, and an integrated phased array probe, in which a head probe and an under part probe are combined to one wedge, is designed.
