The present invention relates to a composition for diagnosing normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and to a detection method of a diagnostic marker using an expression level of chitinase 3-like 1 (CHI3L1) in blood. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition and a kit for diagnosing NPH, and a method for diagnosing NPH using the composition and the kit, which comprises an agent for measuring the expression level of CHI3L1 protein or mRNA encoding the same. According to the present invention, the expression level of CHI3L1 is significantly increased in patients with NPH. Therefore, it is possible to diagnose NPH quickly and accurately by analyzing the expression level of CHI3L1.
