The present invention relates to a blower for effectively providing wind to add a virtual effect to a virtual reality experience system based on a motion simulator and a control method thereof. The blower for a motion simulator-based virtual reality system according to the present invention includes: a blower (300) installed outside the motion simulator (200) to control the speed to implement a wind effect toward the motion simulator (200); and a blower controller (180) for controlling an operation of the blower (300) to implement the wind effect according to virtual reality contents, wherein a plurality of the blowers (300) are installed outside the motion simulator (200) around the motion simulator (200) so as to be represented with arbitrary coordinates (x, y, z) by using coordinates as forward (+x), rearward (-x), upward (+z), downward (-z), leftward (+y), and rightward (-y), so that the wind effect is implemented to the motion simulator (200) by controlling the speed according to the virtual reality contents, thereby realizing the sense of movement and speed when a user moves in various directions in the virtual reality contents, and thus the higher degree of immersive and real feeling is provided.
