The present invention relates to a method for producing a pitch using heavy oil-catalyzed residual oil, and more particularly, to a method for producing a high purity pitch with high hydrocarbon yield and softening point. According to the present invention, it is possible to effectively remove the light oil component and to significantly increase the polymerization degree with respect to the aromatic ring by gradually heating up the residual oil of catalytic decomposition residue of the heavy oil and heat-treating it and extracting the pitch produced by the solvent extraction method .
