APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY WITH LIBRARY OPERATING SYSTEMS

Application compatibility is facilitated through the use of library operating systems. Library operating systems can encapsulate some of the applications that are likely to destroy application compatibility. An application may be bound to a compatible library operating system running on top of the host operating system. Also, the library operating system version may be higher, the same or lower than the host operating system version. As a result, both lower and upper compatibility are possible.
