The present invention relates to a periodic cache bypassing technique according to the cache performance based on the application characteristics and a streaming multiprocessor and embedded system to which the technique is applied. The present invention relates to the cache bypassing technique capable of improving the performance of the embedded system by periodically setting a bypass period in consideration of the cache performance varied depending on the application characteristics and preventing data from being fetched from L1 data cache in the set bypass period.
