The present invention relates to a cationic-dyeable polyester composite yarn with excellent color tone. A side-by-side type latent potential crimped yarn made of high-melting-viscosity copolymerized polyester having a melting viscosity of 2,200 to 2,700 poise and low-melting-viscosity polyester having a melting viscosity of 600 to 1,000, in which metal sulfoisophthalate (SM) and the sulfoisophthlic acid organic salt (SO) are copolymerized, is used as a core yarn, and thick and thin yarn (TTY) is used as an effect yarn.
