The present invention relates to an apparatus for migrating data based on a structured query language (SQL) sentence and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: recognizing storage location identification information of data to be migrated and stored in a source server; recognizing a structure of the data to be migrated and stored in the source server; using the recognized structure of the data to be migrated to generate a schema in a target server, to which the data to be migrated is migrated, in a schema-on-read type; and referring to the storage location identification information of the recognized data to be migrated to migrate the data to be migrated from the source server to the target server. Accordingly, an automatic SQL sentence is generated without structuring a target data schema, such that data is migrated, thereby automating a data migration work and minimizing the need for intervention by IT personnel.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
