The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a Platycodon grandiflorum extract using ultra-high pressure enzyme treatment, and to a composition having antioxidant or α-glucosidase inhibitory activity in which the Platycodon grandiflorum extract has an improved extract yield and saponin content through an ultra-high pressure enzyme treatment process. To be more specifically, the method for manufacturing a Platycodon grandiflorum extract comprises: a step of washing, drying, and grinding Platycodon grandiflorum; a step of treating the ground and dried Platycodon grandiflorum with water and carbohydrase; a step of extracting the enzyme-treated Platycodon grandiflorum at a pressure of 10-300 Mpa and the temperature of 40-60°C for 10-15 hours; and a step of concentrating the extract under reduced pressure. Therefore, the method for manufacturing a Platycodon grandiflorum extract can economically manufacture a Platycodon grandiflorum material by improving an extract yield, and can improve the content of saponin in a Platycodon grandiflorum extract. In addition, the Platycodon grandiflorum extract can be used as a functional material by having high antioxidant or α-glucosidase inhibitory activity.
